When you create a Wish Candle, we collect the information you provide, including your nickname, email address, country, wish text, category, visibility preference, reminder date, payment status, and candle status.

We may also collect basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps, and request logs for security, fraud prevention, rate limiting, analytics, and service reliability.

We use your information to process your order, create your digital candle after confirmed payment, display public anonymous wishes when selected, send confirmation and reminder emails, provide candle links, prevent abuse, and improve the service.

Your email address is used for transactional messages related to your candle, including payment confirmation, candle creation confirmation, reminder emails, and responses related to fulfilled or not-yet wishes.

If you choose public anonymous visibility, your wish text, country, category, creation date, reminder year, and candle status may appear publicly on the World Wishes page. Your email address is never shown publicly.

If you choose private visibility, your candle is intended to be accessible only through its unique link. Anyone with that link may be able to view the candle, so you should share it carefully.

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe during development and may later include Paddle. We do not store full credit card numbers or card security codes on our servers.

Payment providers may collect and process payment information according to their own privacy policies, security standards, and legal obligations.

We may use email providers such as Resend, Nodemailer-compatible SMTP services, or similar vendors to deliver transactional emails. These providers receive the information necessary to send your messages.

Reminder emails may include your wish text and links to respond to your candle, so you should use an email account that is secure and private.

We retain candle records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, preserve permanent candle links, support reminders, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain business records.

You may contact us to request deletion of personal information where applicable. Some information may be retained when required for security, legal, tax, payment, or fraud-prevention reasons.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no internet service, database, or email system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for keeping private candle links confidential if you do not want others to view them.

Wish Candle may be accessed from different countries. Your information may be processed in countries where our hosting, email, analytics, and payment providers operate.

By using the service, you understand that data protection laws may differ from those in your country of residence.

Wish Candle is not intended for children under 13 years old, or under the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
